Three Things to See: Film Festivals in Sculpture Gardens

NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES, SAN FRANCISCO – From an outdoor film festival in a sculpture garden to an award-winning chef curating an art show, here’s the rundown on what’s coming up near you this week.

NYC: Outdoor Cinema at Socrates Sculpture PARK


Socrates Sculpture Park just kicked off its annual outdoor film festival, which features a film from a different country or culture each week until the end of August. Each film is screened on the Park’s beautiful spot on the waterfront overlooking the Manhattan skyline – plus, it’s free.

LA: Please Have Enough Acid in the Dish!


Chef Vinny Dotolo, winner of the prestigious James Beard award, is putting on an art show featuring paintings, sculpture, video, and more food-inspired creations, inspired by the intersection between food and art culture in Los Angeles. (Plus, they’re serving a cocktail called This is not an olive, which makes our inner art nerd very happy.)

SF: About Time – Photography in a Moment of Change


This new show at the SF MoMA examines how the medium of photoraphy has developed over the years, from daguerreotypes to slide projections to video installations.
